Students from our adopted government schools paid tribute to the work of renowned Urdu dramatist Imtiaz Ali Taj during our annual Urdu Bazm-e-Adab Drama Mela held at Khatoon-e-Pakistan Government School. The two-day event showcased the theatrical skills of students from Grades 3-10 through plays, original skits and dances.
The performance hall roared with laughter as students brought to life the writer's most amusing and memorable character, Chacha Chakhan. Some students staged a dramatic dialogue from his famous romantic tragedy Anarkali and another group from SMB Fatima Jinnah Government Girls School enacted a powerful scene from the same. Two original silent skits featuring comical, every-day situations which take place in a cinema and a hospital were also on display.
The productions were judged by Atif Badar, a prominent Pakistani actor, director and storyteller. A huge shout-out to the teachers and management for instituting an annual celebration of Urdu literature.
