In Pakistan, child abuse cases have been on the rise, with an average of over 12 incidents per day as reported in 2022. Due to the social stigma around child exploitation and safety, no contextually relevant resource material exists and children lack the necessary knowledge to address abusive behaviors. Public school curricula and teachers are ill-equipped to teach Life-Skills which are essential for students to navigate their professional and ordinary lives successfully.
Zindagi Trust in partnership with Aahung has developed a holistic and contextually relevant curriculum for Life-Skills Based Education (LSBE) that is executed at our adopted public schools in Karachi. Alongside safe touch, the curriculum empowers and teaches children with a diverse range of essential Life-Skills such as child rights, women rights, personal hygiene, mental health, animal rights, sexual and reproductive health, understanding of Nikah Nama, financial literacy, interpersonal skills and digital safety.
The project aims to provide quality LSBE education via various pedagogical methods that equip students to navigate complex life situations. It also incorporates media awareness and sensitization for parents to listen to and support children.

Zindagi Trust and various Pakistani celebrities advocate for child protection reforms all across the country after the Farishta case in Islamabad.
At Zindagi Trust, we are in the process of developing a comprehensive LSBE curriculum, tailored to empower children and communities. Our goal is to advocate for the integration of LSBE into all public schools in Pakistan, fostering a brighter future for the nation's youth.
Initially focused on protecting children from sexual abuse, LSBE has evolved into a broader vision by Zindagi Trust. The organization aims to develop a holistic and culturally relevant Life-Skills curriculum for schools across Pakistan. This curriculum encompasses personal development, physical and emotional well-being, civic understanding, time management, leadership, and digital literacy. The LSBE program also advocates for child protection through Life-Skills education in both public and private schools, emphasizing the importance of parent and teacher education.
