Introducing Supplementary Syllabus for Empowering Education

At Zindagi Trust, we believe that every child deserves access to a holistic and well-rounded education. We are dedicated to transforming the educational landscape in Pakistan by introducing innovative approaches and advocating for positive policy changes. One of our key initiatives focuses on the introduction of a supplementary syllabus, expanding the horizons of learning beyond the confines of Sindh Board textbooks.

What is Supplementary Syllabus?

The Supplementary Syllabus in our schools refers to an additional curriculum that complements the regular academic curriculum prescribed by the education board in Pakistan. The regular curriculum is usually set by the government and followed by all schools across the country. However, our schools go beyond the standard curriculum to provide a more holistic and comprehensive learning experience for their students.

Changing the Policy

To achieve this goal, we set out to change the policy that restricted students to solely relying on Sindh Board textbooks. We firmly believed that incorporating other textbooks would offer a more comprehensive and well-grounded education. In 2007, it was decided that SMB Fatima Jinnah Government School will use textbooks other than Sindh Textbook Board Books as a pilot program so that the usefulness or otherwise of using better books may be established for further policy consideration.
