Overview of Zindagi Trust:


Zindagi Trust is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that strives to improve the quality of education available to the average Pakistani. Our areas of work include reforming public schools, educating working children and lobbying the government to improve education policy.

Our flagship projects of school reform are SMB Fatima Jinnah Government Girls School (SMB) and Khatoon-e-Pakistan Government School (KPS) in Karachi. The schoolshave been transformed into vibrant centres of learning through a combination of infrastructural development, administrative upheaval, academic reforms, student development and teacher development.

 


Purpose & Scope:

 


The successful candidate will be responsible for standardizing HR practices and carrying out general HR operations across the head office, regional offices located in Lahore and Pindi, and schools (SMB, KPS, and Shangla Girls School located in KPK)

 


Major Job Responsibilities:

 


 


The HR Officer shall be responsible for the following tasks:
 
  • Manage recruitment and selection process including, but not limited to:
    • liaising with relevant departments to develop detailed job descriptions
    • publishing advertisements
    • scheduling and assisting in interviews
    • maintaining database of applicants
    • preparing offer, appointment and confirmation letters
  • Develop and implement employee induction and employee exit proceduresaligned with best practices
  • Maintain updated employee database/files with relevant documents
  • Maintain updated employee attendance and leave records
  • Manage employee benefits such as insurance, leaves and graduity
  • Manage outreach, recruitment and facilitation of interns and volunteers
  • Identify opportunities/workshops for staff development and facilitate staff participation
  • Communicate relevant announcements (such as public holidays) to regional offices and schools
  • Recommend management on employee wellness and wellbeing programs
  • Advise and assist management on HR practices and procedures

 

 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 


 

  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

 

Education & Experience:

 


  • Bachelors in Management Sciences or Business with a focus in HR, from an accredited HEC recognized institution
  • At least 1.5 - 02 years' of proven track record in a HR Generalist role
  • Fresh Graduates may also apply
