Director Academics


JOB SUMMARY:

The Director Academics will be responsible for driving academic standards and improving the overall quality of education within Zindagi Trust’s adopted government girls’ schools. This role involves developing and implementing academic programs, supporting teaching staff, monitoring student performance and ensuring that the school meets national educational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Academic Leadership & Strategy:

  • Develop and implement policies and strategies to enhance academic performance across all grade levels.
  • Lead the development and review of the school’s curriculum and syllabus and ensure alignment with national educational standards and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers in the delivery of the curriculum and the implementation of effective teaching methodologies.

 

2. Program Development and Implementation:

  • Design and oversee academic programs and initiatives that foster student engagement and academic achievement.
  • Evaluate and update academic programs to ensure they meet the evolving needs of students and educational standards.

 

3. Teacher Support and Development:

  • Conduct regular professional development sessions for teachers to enhance their instructional skills and keep them updated with the latest educational practices.
  • Mentor and support teaching staff to promote effective teaching strategies and address any academic challenges.

 

4. Performance Monitoring & Improvement:

  • Develop and implement systems for monitoring and assessing student performance and develop plans to address any academic gaps.
  • Develop and implement systems for monitoring and assessing teaching performance and develop plans to address any gaps.
  • Analyze academic data to identify trends, areas for improvement and strategies to support student achievement.

 

5. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the government-appointed Principals, Head Mistress, Program Managers, administrative staff and the School Management Committee to align academic goals with Zindagi Trust and Durbeen’s vision and mission.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for coordinating on all academic matters with the management of Durbeen and faculty of GECE Hussainabad. Ensure compliance with and integration of new policies, practices and procedures across all schools.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, academic programs and school initiatives.

 

6. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure that the school’s academic programs comply with relevant educational policies and regulations.
  • Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of academic practices to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to quality standards.

 

7. Research and Innovation:

  • Stay informed about current trends research, and advancements in education.
  • Introduce innovative teaching methods and resources to enhance the learning experience and academic outcomes.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s or doctorate degree in education.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in an educational leadership role, with a proven track record of improving academic standards and outcomes.
