Football Friendlies
The school football team played friendly matches against Agha Khan Kharadar and the famous Diya Women's Club, winning against the school team but losing out to the club side. The overall performance of the girls was great and resulted in the selection of 3 of them - Roshana, Hifza and Sania - to the football team of the Sindh province, thanks to the Sports Secretary being in attendance.

Netball Coaching Camp
Students from our government school participated in a 4-day netball camp along with teams from 20 of the top private schools of the city. The training focused on technique and our team did well in the practice matches, reaching the quarter-finals. Read more.
Survey on Drinking Water
As part of an awareness campaign on the importance of safe drinking water,a student-conducted survey was launched to assess water safety practices adopted in the communities of our working students, who mostly live in urban slums where disease is common. Our teachers guided the students in collecting survey responses from their family and neighbours. Read more.

Financial Literacy Workshop
A workshop on Basic Banking and the Importance of Savings was conducted at our school for working children by Volunteer Karachi and the Institute of Business Administration. The volunteers running the workshop made use of motivational examples and visual tools to encourage students to plan for savings, among other topics on financial literacy.

   Poetry Contest
Fabiha, a 4th-grade student from our government school won the 2nd prize in the "I Have a Dream" Poetry Competition organized by the Children's Museum, edging out more than 3000 entries from students from 43 schools from all over Pakistan. A big congrats to Fabiha and also to her Urdu teacher, Sajida, who guided her to the win. Read more.

Shehzad fundraising in Canada & the US

Award Ceremony for Grads
Schools across our non-formal primary education network for working children celebrated a successful term by awarding graduates and high-achievers. Students put up dramas, performances on poems, as well as national songs as part of the celebration and pledged to focus on their studies in the upcoming term. Read more.
