Inter-school Football Wins for Boys and Girls Teams at Fatima Jinnah
Fatima Jinnah School sent teams to both the boys and the girls events of the Inter-School Football Championship at Malir Halt. Both the teams displayed impressive football skills, thanks in big part to their recently certified coach, Ambreen Hamid. The girls’ team won the tournament, with a last-minute goal from young Urooj of Class 6 deciding the game. The boys’ team , made up of students from Class 3-5, was participating at this level for the first time but their enthusiasm and training helped them reach the final, where they did exceptionally well to lose 5-4 on penalties, coming home overjoyed with the runners-up trophy. Paid to Learn students kick off Spring Festival
Our network of schools for working children across Pakistan celebrated the arrival of spring by sowing seeds and planting herbs. Teachers walked the students through the hands-on activity, providing them with small pots, soil, seeds and spray bottles. Teachers explained the cycle of life of a plant to the children through colourful charts to encourage an interest in gardening. The activity has been integrated into the Science and Urdu classes which helps make everyday classroom learning more interactive and relevant. We look forward to sharing pictures of the resulting healthy, student-grown plants next month! Read More...

Sports Day at Fatima Jinnah School

The Annual Sports Day was held at the school for Class 1-8. Parents were invited for the first time and their presence noticeably raised the level of competition. Students participated in flat races, obstacle races, relay races and other athletics events like the long jump. An impressive march past and PT display were also on show. The top 3 positions from each event were awarded, as was the athlete/sportswoman of the year (an award that went to Shifa Subhani). A big thank you to all the government teachers, project teachers and support staff who helped make the enjoyable event happen. Read More...
