SMB Fatima Jinnah Government Girls School held its 4th Inter-House Scrabble Tournament featuring 34 students from Classes 6 and 7. The game of Scrabble is a great, fun way of expanding and sharpening the English vocabulary of our students, or those in any Urdu-medium school. Most of the competing children were new to the game - a sign that they enjoy the game and are eager to learn.
The tournament consisted of 5 rounds of 30 minutes each. All students started played in Category 1. All students would proceed to the next round based on their performance in the previous round which came out through the score sheet which was filled by every player after every round. The students who ended up with the top 3 positions were delighted with their performance.
It is also important to note the achievement of the students who took 4th and 5th positions. Most of the player were new and put up a great show given that they just started learning how to play Scrabble, unlike the top 2 winners who have been playing for years.
The list of students who got positions are as follows:
Manza Kiran VIII E (1st Position)
Kashaf Arif VIII A (2nd Position)
Hamda Nadeem VIII A (3rd Position)
All the winners and participants of Mind Sports were awarded shields on the school's annual Sports Day.
